Georg Mayer, 3GPP Core Networks and Terminals (CT) Chairman

There is much focus at the moment on the progress made with the radio aspects of 5G, particularly the 5G NR specification in the first drop of Release 15. But what is the current status of the 5G work in the core network, and what is the 3GPP CT Group's role in the work being done on new Service Based Architectures. Outside of 3GPP, work continues in the IETF on new network protocols that could play an important part in 5G, such as the Quick UDP Internet Connections (QUIC) protocol.
