Lynn and Julia ponder the practicalities telcos must consider when planning for the introduction of 5G. Can one network really support the diverse range of use cases envisioned? What technologies must be in place before a telco can claim to have a 5G network? The most important thing to plan for, though, is the critical journey from connectivity provider to digital service provider. The new 5G infrastructure composed of a distributed compute fabric, a programmable multi-layer connectivity fabric and a pervasive decision fabric. What about timing?
